What you give:

• You agree to play 1 gig minimum per band (+2 more if successful in heats)
• You pay a deposit of £10 each per band member fully returnable
• You supply personal info to make you fully contactable
• You consider what this platform can become, beyond this year!
• You have some level of ambition and competence to take advantage of what we are offering and you understand the terms and condition upon entering.

There is NO catch, it's technically FREE ENTRY to the platform and comes with a feck load of stuff you can take advantage of. Its simply the best way to get your band noticed over the next 4 months.

The CD: A track charge of £5 per band member will be taken from the deposit if the band wished to be part of the compilations with a per track value charge of £1 per track # in reverse of the track 20, i.e. track #1 £20, track#7 £13, Track#20 £1 etc (Free if recording at Jigga Jam studios)

Deposits: Will be fully returnable (£10) or in part (£5 )of CD has been utilised by the band, this money will be in cash and can be claimed form the 1st June until 31st July at which point it will be donated to charity of our choice. (Last year we raised £1250 from the Band Quest via donations.)

Unified Sounds is a GO! The Band Consultancy Meetings have been very worth while so far, this one steps up. The meeting will offer advice from the Musicians Union and will serve as a questions and answers night for Band Quest - We want EVERYthing to be Bigger than EVER - Come along and Make a difference.

The meeting is upstairs at the OHM bar at 6pm.

This Sunday sees RAYBAND and indie rockers LIQUID LIMOUSINE rip up the OHM bar. ELEPHANT HEAD and SHAUN GRIMSLEY also play.

Bloodstock Open Air returns in 2009 and is set to increase in size for the 5th year running. Three days full of pure metal and a little bit more at Catton Hall!

It received more publicity than the final of Strictly Come Dancing, unfortunately GUNS N ROSES first album since 1991, 'Chinese Democracy' also managed to come across as forced and clichéd as a Bruce Forsyth quip. This single 'Better', bears out some of the flaws of this supposed rejuvenation. Building from an disjointed, atmospherically implanted beginning it relies too much on hollow, spiralling 70's riffs and Axl's tiring glam skirting vocal approach that was showing signs of tiring and becoming grating in 1991.

Unfortunately, Metallica B-side status would be a compliment rather than a put down for this incongruous offering. For many, it was just enough for 'Chinese Democracy' to be out there, but patience will surely wane as they use snippets from it like 'Better', to keep it in lunchtime conversations at office, school, pub or university.

London-based Australian Black/Thrash horde RAZOR OF OCCAM has just released the first song of their upcoming new album 'Homage To Martyrs'!

Check out the opening track 'Altar Of Corruption', a mean piece of music giving you an immediate kick just like adrenaline! Finally Metal is dangerous again! 'Homage To Martyrs' was recorded at Necromorbus studios Sweden (Watain, Aversa Sefira, Mörk Gryning) and produced by Tore Stjerna.

What you get to hear on 'Homage To Martyrs' is the perfect amalgamation of raw Black Metal and the thrashing mania of Slayers 'Reign In Blood'. As raw, relentless and intense as it can get! Merciless sharp riffing and pure brutality from the darkest vaults of down under. You will hardly find any band out there that is sounding more Metal than RAZOR OF OCCAM!

'Homage To Martyrs' will be released the 13th of March in D/A/CH/I and the 16th of March in the rest of Europe!
