SATURDAY 22 SEPTEMBER

A evening of female–fronted metal

Xandria

Female–fronted metal enters the Camden Underworld on Saturday 22nd September – Doors at 6.30pm.

After last summer's successful UK debut gig at the same venue, Xandria return with a brand new album – 'Salome' released a few months ago across Europe and slowly building upon the success of its predecessor – India (2005). Signed to Drakkar Records in Germany, the band are building a following around the world, having played concerts as far afield as South Korea, Mexico and Russia.

With the Gothic Metal/Female–Fronted Metal scene expanding Adastreia are a band who have played for us before, including Xandria's debut gig in the UK, in August 2006. Their music embraces a very dark atmosphere that delves into black metal–esque territory, eerie keyboard melodies, rich guitar riffs and quirky musical twists that keep the audience guessing. However, Adastreia never fails to deliver beautiful melodic hooks that entice the listener as Alexandra utilises her classical vocal training and combines it with a versatility that embraces both the richness of operatic tone and the honesty of emotion inherent in the rock styles. Having spent much of the last few months hard at work in the studio on their debut album, 'That Which Lies Within' they are looking forward to playing the new material live on stage. Sadly the occasion will be the final show with keyboardist Hillary who is returning home to Australia.

First on stage will be Into The Woods – a brand new band who hail from Croydon and other parts of South London. With the striking Natalia from Latvia on vocals, their sound has been likened to that of Lacuna Coil, but with a harder edge. They've already played a couple of shows at The Peel in Kingston, but this will be their biggest show to date.
