IGNOMINIOUS INCARCERATION
"It's nice to know that theres extreme bands ready to rip 2010 a new one. Ignominious Incarceration are one such band."
Jason Brett (Rock Matrix) - Full review in reviews section of this newsletter.
Ignominious Incarceration are a fast-rising modern death metal band based in Bath in the UK. This talented, young five-piece deliver an instantly recognisable, crushing, modern sound whilst being unmistakably rooted in traditional death metal.
Having only formed in 2006, Ignominious Incarceration are one fast-moving band.
Only six weeks after forming in a small town called Wellington in the UK, the band played their first gig to a humble audience of around 20 people. By the time the band played their third show, they had replaced Abigail Williams on a tour slot as the main support act for Bring Me The Horizon and were playing to over 400 people.

Since those early shows, Ignominious Incarceration have been moving at light-speed, both musically and in their progression as a band. Quickly being tipped as one of the best new British death metal bands, they have toured with the likes of Trigger the Bloodshed and Bleed From Within, and have an unreleased 6-track EP under their belts.
In May 2008, only two years after forming, Ignominious Incarceration's hard-working ethic paid off as the band signed a worldwide record deal with extreme metal label, Earache Records.

DEMO REVIEW
Kill The Machine - KTM Demo
Heavyweight bass lines crash into some groove-fried riffs on this three track demo.
Lead track 'Control' may sound simple but it's relentless main riff thunders through the brain, trapping your concious, stamping all over it and spitting it out in time for the Crowbar inspired crunch and grind of 'Rise'. 'Intravenous' raises the pace, the bass and guitar working together to form an unstoppable bastion of heaviness, with a furiously slamming chorus.
In truth this demo only shows some of what Kill The Machine can do. Witness them live and you be sold on them!

PROMO REVIEW
Diva Suicide - Diva Suicide
Based somewhere between The Birthday Massacre and Helalyn Flowers this demo is immediate, wasting no time in showcasing the bands ear for melody. The likes of 'This night' bounces along with a pop sensibility unseen in many goth quarters. Don't be fooled into thinking this is some kind of lightweight goth pop though, as the pulsating electronics heard on 'She cries to lullabies' contain a dark and sinister aftertaste, while the driving guitars on both 'Last wish' and 'Blessed by the sun' ensure this demo contains a blackened punch alongside the melody.
An interesting and exciting release from Diva Suicide.

METAL BLADE NEWS
PRIMORDIAL to release first ever DVD "All Empires Fall"!
Irish Pagan masters PRIMORDIAL will release their first ever DVD All Empires Fall on February, 28th / March, 1st 2010 via Metal Blade in Europe! It'll be a DVD-set containing two discs full of quality material!
Disc 1 is the centrepiece of the DVD and features a full PRIMORDIAL headline show recorded live on the 24th of January, 2009 in their hometown of Dublin, Ireland. The show was filmed with five cameras and has an exceptional vintage look due to the hard work in post production. A truly impressive and powerful live gig, exciting from start to finish in front of die hard PRIMORDIAL audience and a perfect sound track that is available in stereo and 5.1!
Disc 2 features live clips from the bands appearances at Ragnarok Festival (Germany), Hove Festival (Norway) and Graspop Metal Meeting (Belgium) in 2008. The second disc also features a band documentary with all the inside stories and loads of ancient footage from the early stages of the band. The documentary has a playing time of approx. 60 minutes. Interviews with all band members and rehearsal footage complete the second disc of the set!
The special Deluxe version of All Empires Fall features expanded packaging and two additional audio CDs featuring the Dublin show!
Here's what singer A.A. Nemtheanga has to say about All Empires Fall:
"...the gods have been working hard dogging the release of our first dvd 'All Empires Fall' but finally we are ready to prevail. The DVD will contain our Dublin show from last year, a documentary and bonus material from recent festivals. The special edition will contain the audio discs of the Dublin show, so you can hear how some old classics are played now, some almost two decades after writing. So how does it look? The simple answer is and without exaggeration possibly one of the best Metal live shows I've ever seen. We filmed it on analog reels, cut it with frightening pace and mixed it up with some very unconventional camera angles. It has the feel of a classic show from the late 70s not the clean, clinical digital vacuum most modern shows are filmed in. We also invested a lot of time, money and effort so don't expect one of those free recordings most festivals and soundstages offer. As normal we didn't do anything conventionally so there are no boring balcony stills or side of stage montages. No overdubs, auto tuning or drop ins we are proud that 'All Empires Fall' shows us as we are and as a Primordial show always is. Blood and thunder and no quarter given from start to finish..."

Intrepid Fox
Conceived by rock n' roll, born the bastard child of punk; raised on streets filled with trash, worshipped on the altar of rock and welded to the engine by metal...!!! Ladies and gentlemen, we give you the infamous INTREPID FOX... From it's beginnings in the heart of Soho in the sixties, once patronised by the likes of Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood, hellraising actors Richard Harris and Peter O'Toole; the seventies led to the Sex Pistols and Malcolm Mclaren proclaiming it "like an old friend"; Slash could be seen propping up the bar in the eighties whilst the nineties provided a watering-hole for such legends as Lemmy and Zakk Wylde... Re-located to it's new lair in St Giles in 2006, the Fox continues to uphold the alternative spirit, playing host to Iron Maiden, Bullet For My Valentine, Buckcherry, Zodiac Mindwarp and Backyard Babies to name a few, always providing a safe haven for London's rockers and goths, punks and metallers alike. Always entertaining and fun, frequently deranged n' impossibly handsome the wily old Fox continues to rock this town like a motherfker...!!!
