Rock Night Live starts with a bang in 2008 with the almighty MAD DOG returning to their spiritual home. In support are the ever experimental CODES IN THE CLOUDS fresh of the back of rave reviews throughout 2007 and SIKHONA. The always dependable JEREMY AYRE opens the night. DJ LIFEGUARD BUNNY plays interesting stuff between bands.

So we head into Rock Matrix's 6th year running shows and events – 2008 best yet?

We are looking for bands based on the following in ANY genre:

Non Local bands – We have always wanted to add new acts to all our bills but the way we have opperated means the pubs only keep us if they take cash at the bar: So the deal is for bands deemed 'not local to us' That 25 people need to be brought, we will run a 25 ticket pre-sale deal where by the face value is £2 and you can sell as many or as little as you want. This means you can sell 25 tickets for £50 but you'll have to buy the tickets at £1. This is the same deal we offer local bands they get £1 per flyer/entrant to our events.

Local Bands – with the ever splitting genres and mini scenes, we strive to make the events we put on the ones with the BEST sound system, The BIGGEST crowds and the CHEAPEST events that are truely sustainable. We Have professional Sound Engineers, Door Staff (SIA), Professional Staff, Legally tested equipment (PAT) and insurance which is also a LEGAL requirement for any promoter. We do things the right way, so we want your support in keeping music safe and well managed. We offer a £1 per person coming into our shows, based on flyers and anything you produce for your fans to hand in, anything that has your name or logo on it. So for gigs in 2008 make sure we know everything about you.

New Bands – Want your first show to be easy, people that understand what it means to do your first show? Then come and play for Rock Matrix, if you need assistance please just ask. All you need is backline and we encouarge equipment share so not even that sometimes. Most of our venues are +18 though so bare in mind. We are also adding another new night in February so fresh bands wanted please!!

This year we expect to be running the most dynamic shows EVER acheived locally. Even January could have some BIG surprises in it!

We only ask you look after the venues we work in and that you dont sit back and just expect things to go perfectly, we need your best efforts or the scene wont ever grow and flurish like it has for the last 4+ years.

2008 will give us the chance to work on live recordings and sponsored shows through magazines and other media and record labels.

We'll be 100% full steam ahead in the 1st 7 months of 2008 when we will be changing direction, The Rock Matrix has always been a labour of love for me and its long hard weeks but as long as we have a good start to the year we'll make sure we do our very best for you. Having become financially dependant now with heavy debts, running these shows will only happen whilst this years MASSIVE insurance bill covers us, so please come and enjoy the last few months, we simply cannot afford to carry on as running legitimate events as the costs are too heavy, we wont be brought down to run shows that don't meet legal standards like others do. After that we have given the events to the new kids on the block. They wont be ready until April though so keep your eyes peeled for a bigger named promoter to step into the scene and really put the bigger bands into the area that we couldnt.

Loved having you play for us on 2007, so now bring on 2008 and make it massive!
